Ferriby station serves the village of North Ferriby which is located on the north bank of the Humber Estuary, approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Hull city centre.

North Ferriby has an interesting history and is known for its Bronze Age boat replicas, which are displayed in the Hull and East Riding Museum. It was originally a ferry crossing point over the Humber, hence its name.

The village has a population of around 4000 people and is home to the Church of All Saints, a Grade I listed building dating back to the 13th century.
It has its own local football team, North Ferriby United A.F.C., which was founded in 1934 and best of all it is surrounded by beautiful countryside, including the Yorkshire Wolds and the Humber Bridge Country Park.
