LIVE TRAIN TIMES
Driffield is a market town on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Its growth took off with the opening of the canal in 1770 and the railway in 1846.

Driffield prospered as a mill town and used to have several water powered mills which made use of the two chalk streams that flow through the town.
One of the mills – Bells Mill still remains although it is now powered by electricity. Other mill and industrial buildings have been sympathetically converted into housing.

The town has a busy shopping area with many independent shops and places to eat. It holds events throughout the year such as the Christmas market and the Steam and vintage rally. The biggest event for the town is the Driffield Show which attracts around 20000 visitors each year to what is one of the biggest one day agricultural shows in England.

The market is held in the high street every Thursday and draws in visitors from many of the surrounding towns and villages.
There are plenty of green spaces to enjoy nature and a large childrens play park at North End.

Bell Mills is an attractive area of waterways and streams and is a popular place for families to feed the ducks and see the large trout. The garden centre there serves meals and ice creams at its cafe where you can sit at the outdoor tables and enjoy the river views.
Riverhead is the name given to the canal head area and is very close to the Railway station. The area is popular for picnics, walks and wildlife spotting. Kingfishers can regularly be seen here. Frankies cafe overlooks the canal and serves delicious meals, drinks and snacks.
