LINE GUIDE
ABOUT YCCRP
The Yorkshire Coast line was opened by the York and North Midland Railway company in 1846/47 and has kept much of its original character and buildings. The stations are a joy to behold, especially in Summer as the station adopters bedeck them in flowers, and the line is especially of interest to the railway historian.

The line has lots to offer - from the thriving city and port of Hull to Victorian seaside resorts such as Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough. Along the way are pretty rural villages and thriving market towns as well as splendid views of the sea and countryside.

At 55 miles long it connects the seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington with historic market towns Beverley and Driffield and of course the city of Hull and all that it has to offer. Hourly trains from Scarborough to Hull continue on to Doncaster, Meadowhall and Sheffield. An hourly service from Bridlington to York via Hull means that there are two trains per hour in both directions between Bridlington and Hull, Monday - Saturday.
There are good connections at both ends of the line. From Hull there are direct trains to Leeds, Halifax, York, Manchester, Liverpool and London. Scarborough enjoys direct trains to York and Manchester.
On Sundays there is an hourly service in both directions between Scarborough and Hull for most of the day.
Northern is the main train operator on the line but Hull Trains also operates a service between Beverley and London Kings Cross and the North end of the line between Seamer and Scarborough is shared with the Transpennine Express operated route from York.

Plusbus is available at Scarborough and Hull and the Yorkshire Coast Day Ranger ticket lets you extend your journey by bus from Scarborough to Whitby.

Travelling by train offers you the opportunity to sit back and enjoy the wonderful scenery of the coast and Yorkshire Wolds.
