Seamer station serves Crossgates and Eastfield areas as well as Seamer village itself.

 

Situated at the junction of the Yorkshire Coast line and the Scarborough to York line it is used as an interchange station with many passengers alighting there to change trains.

 

The station is close to the Eastfield shopping area which is home to McDonalds, KFC and Morrisons, and the Burton Riggs nature reserve, a wildlife oasis formed around two freshwater lakes.

Seamer junction is a popular place for photographers to capture passing trains, especially the Steam trains which run in Summer. A public footpath leads to the junction and crosses both lines.
