Filey is a picturesque seaside town on the Yorkshire Coast known for its sandy beaches, its beautiful flower displays and the brigg which is a rocky peninsular at the North end of Filey Bay that can be explored at low tide.

 

The town has a strong community feel and welcomes visitors. It enjoys a busy programme of events including several Food Festivals each year which attract big crowds, as well as a Literary Festival, Folk Festival, Ukulele Festival and Kite Festival.

It is very popular with walkers as there is a good network of public footpaths and several long distance footpaths start here including the Wolds Way and the Cleveland Way.

Filey's beautiful beach, brigg and promenade attract thousands of tourists each year but the town boasts many other attractions too :

Filey Bird Garden is an award winning family run attraction. Its five acres of beautiful gardens are home to lots of friendly animals and exotic birds.

 

Filey museum is tucked away in the old part of town and is one of the best small museums in the area.

 

Glen Gardens occupy an enviable position on the South cliffs and contain a boating lake, crazy golf, children’s play area and a café.

 

The Country Park at the North of the bay overlooks the Brigg and is the starting point for the Cleveland Way and the Wolds Way walks.

 

Ocean Drive Crazy Golf is an ocean themed crazy golf course on the promenade which is popular with families.
