Several different classes of trains can be seen on the Yorkshire Coast line at the moment and many others have been

used in the past.  How many can you name ?

Here are some coloring pages to download of some past and present trains.  See if you can colour them in Northern's colours.

Stay-Safe-with-Thomas-safety-campaign-eb

Network Rail and Thomas the Tank Engine have joined together to help young children learn about staying safe around the railway. This is the first time a Thomas and Friends™ book has covered a rail safety theme.

This brand new book sees Thomas on an exciting adventure around railway tracks, stations and level crossings – and he learns that staying safe is much more important than going fast or being silly!

Peter’s Railway is an intriguing story about Peter and his Grandpa building and operating a miniature steam railway on a farm.
The books are written by Christopher Vine, a Chartered Engineer who loves railways and anything mechanical or electrical. They are his way of passing on his love and knowledge of engineering to today’s youngsters.

Peter's Railway website has some activity sheets and information booklets to download.  click on the image for the link.
